Iluta is no stranger to the pursuit of stars – both carrying Latvia’s name in four Olympic Games in luge sports, obtaining degrees in pedagogy and entrepreneurship, and delving into the specifics and behind the scenes of a wide variety of industries for more than 20 years.
During this time, Iluta has managed companies of various industries, worked as a member of the Riga City Council, managed and motivated employee teams in Latvia, Estonia and Belarus. This has helped her to develop her skills in the development of personnel policy, the selection of management positions and structural units, as well as the in-depth analysis of candidates. It is these aspects that allow Iluta to lead a recruitment company for more than 15 years, to navigate the executive selection galaxy analytically and intuitively in order to attract the brightest stars to your company.
1. How would you describe your everyday life while working in our company?
It’s like an exciting adventure because no day is the same. I am pleased with what has been achieved and I have a great opportunity to work to help many companies realize their goals.
2. What are your hobbies and interests outside of work? And how do you maintain a healthy work-life balance?
I really enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, playing golf, walking my dog, gardening and going to the cinema, theatre or concert. I could not live in another country for a long time, because I would miss the fantastic cultural events of our Latvia.
17 years ago, when I started my recruitment company, I vowed never to work on holidays and to spend time with my family or use time for myself. For 99% I have succeeded and on Mondays I want to go to work again 😊.
3. Can you share a funny, unique or interesting incident that happened in the job of candidate selection and evaluation?
Such cases are regular. But the situation that causes a smile is when one of the candidates had adjusted her CV for several vacancies, lying about the jobs and positions she had worked. There is such a movie as Emulators and probably she also imagined that she could be like that😊.
4. What would you like to do in the future?
We have challenging plans and ideas related to the development of the company in the near future. There must be a goal to strive for because development must not stop for a single day!
5. What is your favourite saying or mantra? Why is it important to you?
I like to say – life is beautiful! Because I am an optimist and I try to see the positive and the good in every situation. We must appreciate our land, our people and what we have managed to achieve and how we live now. I say this often because I feel happy in my life.
